Welcome
Welcome from Ms Martina Parsons, Headteacher
Thank you for your interest in our lovely school. I am very proud to be the Headteacher of this aspirational and supportive Church school where we strive to teach and develop our learners through our main drivers of respect, empathy, hope, trust and wonder.
Choosing the right school for your child is hugely important, which is why we have a particular emphasis on working in partnership with our parents. We therefore operate an open door policy and welcome your thoughts and support for the duration of your child's school journey (and beyond.)
St John's has confidence in, and aspiration for every child. We set high social and academic targets and work steadily towards them. We employ a child-centered, nurturing approach in order to support the development journey for our children.
We work together to ensure we all live our lives to the fullest, following our Christian narrative.
'I came that they may have life and have it abundantly..' John 10.10b.
At all times, we strive to be the very best we can be, and this is realised through the best efforts of our pupils, parents, carers, staff and Governors. We are a busy, friendly, inclusive school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of St John's, as well as providing up to date information for parents, carers, pupils and the wider community.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
As a school we value each and every member of our school family - pupils, parents and friends of the school and we look forward to working with you in our school community. We have strong links with our Church, St John's and St Stephen's and share the Church building for many of our important events throughout the year, including our celebrations of the Christian calendar - Harvest, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
Our vicar is Reverend Claire Alcock, and she can be reached via the church office. She is a wonderful supporter and member of our diverse school family and is a regular visitor.
We also welcome feedback, so if you notice that something may need our attention, please do not hesitate in letting us know.
We all work hard, knowing that together we will flourish.
Our motto is; Wonder Trust Achieve and these are our golden threads!
I feel fortunate to be at the centre of such a supportive and hard-working community and I warmly welcome you to our wonderful school family.
