New Parents Welcome Page - Virtual tour and presentations for September 2021

Welcome to St John’s!

We know you are going to love it here.

‘Good relationships with adults, and each other, ensure that children quickly adapt to school life and are happy, motivated and ready to learn. By the time children leave the Reception Year, the large majority progress well to reach a good level of development. Children are well equipped for key stage 1.'

‘…. warm, nurturing environment. Pupils feel happy and safe. ’

OFSTED INSPECTION  2018.

In preparation for the children who joined us in September 2020,  we created this dedicated page. We are pleased to say that those children (and lovely new families)  settled exceptionally well and have happily completed their first two terms with us.

We have decided to keep this page available for all of you joining us in

September 2021. We can't wait to meet you all.

We are hopeful that during this coming summer term we will be able to offer onsite visits to assist transition into school for your children.  However, as you are aware, at this immediate time it remains challenging to allow visits.  We will keep you updated. In the meantime we hope that this page can support you a little further in getting to know our lovely school.

On this page you will find:

  • St John's CE Primary School Video
  • a presentation welcoming Nursery children to the Nursery Classes (Squirrels)
  • a welcome presentation from Ms Parsons (Headteacher) for those joining Reception Classes (Badgers and Hedgehogs)
  • a presentation to walk you through the Badger and Hedgehog classrooms and what the school day might be like
  • a Foundation Stage social story to share with your children
  • a Frequently Asked Questions section

As well as this (and our Ofsted report)  please do read our SIAMs report - this was an external  inspection that took place three months following our Ofsted visit and pointed to the fabulous developments in place and ongoing. I can assure you that this trajectory has continued and St John's is a very special place to be. We can't wait to welcome you all to our school family.

'Pupils’ wellbeing and mental health are a high priority and pupils know how much they matter to all adults. They feel safe and say there is no bullying or discrimination. The community is made up of families of several faiths and cultures. This diversity is widely celebrated through international events and festivals'

‘The school is diverse and inclusive, and everyone in the community shows profound respect for one another.’
